I'm a Software Engineer so I know that people have specialties in tech, but it's a little hard for me to believe that the devs who support the project couldn't modify something that is already in place. In software you generally don't have to re-invent the wheel. I would probably be more willing to believe this could be the issue if it was a network connectivity problem or something more tangential in nature to the game code. However, skills/stat caps are spread throughout the game and a pretty core component.
I have no access to the code but I would think the logic for hybrids should be modified to work just as it does for a functioning class like warrior. IIRC when the cap was taken off I didn't get skill raises to 252 I just got jumped up there (I could be miss-remembering). Anecdotal evidence makes me think that hybrid caps weren't actually increased to innately be the new higher values but were instead changed to be bumped up by some kind of script that runs (or doesn't) always. I would say try removing anything that is fundamentally different from the rest of the code for other classes in handling skill caps.
I wan't to be clear I'm not voicing this opinion to say that I have any expectations on the dev team's time. I appreciate all the uncompensated time and work they put in to this project. I could be totally missing what's going on here. I just hope that this bug isn't going unaddressed because of intimidation of unfamiliarity by the current staff. I have very strong faith in their ability to support the project.
