Sky was changed at least once... (possibly twice).
The 2010 Plane of Sky definitely is not the same as 1999 Plane of Sky.
That being said, nobody cleared sky before Kunark in classic (except for maybe one guild? conflicting rumors), so you are not going to find any posts from that era to back up your claim.
