Mostly this. There is a rational argument against allowing it alongside a reasonable desire for it. Both are lost to utter retardation. Leave things as they are and I'm sure we will survive.

are real though. It's the reason middle class families are squeezed out of urban areas. Affordable housing drives ordinary real estate prices up because 1. It decreases the available real estate for ordinary use and 2. Developers shift the losses on the affordable units to the other units.
