With VP I read a ton of complaints about it during the Kunark era of p99. Many words were indeed uttered. The only reason why they are not uttered any more, I imagine, is because the people who would have been competing for VP targets have more or less moved on to ToV.

VP is different. Killing the trash is actively a bad decision because it respawns quickly and and/or trash spawns more mobs on death.
