If we really think this through, you're 100% right.

The accused should have a chance to defend themselves, otherwise they will just /q, leave, and we will be denied our justice. Yeah they could script something, but it wouldn't be the same.

A public trial over /ooc or /shout. Let them deny it, let them explain it. Let them have their day.

My own account was suspended back in 2010 for Macroquest. If you look for that old thread, you WILL see McPorty listed. It wasn't me, but it was a friend of mine doing it. I ate my punishment and donated to the server that day because I genuinely believe in the sanctity of the server (and yelled at my friend who did it). But I was OK...I deserved what happened to me because the account is mine and the responsibility lies with me.

Let the GM's act a judge, jury and executioner. I wouldn't have wanted a jury to try my own case: this isn't my server, and I'm not trying to get some kind of community justice.

But, make the executions and trials public!
