We'll see if the Romney Incorporated is willing to throw their weight behind this so-called Plan B. First Jeb, then Rubio, now Paul Ryan.
The GOP is on a tear. Scorched earth is in full effect.

They can't damage the movement, only themselves. Scorched knickers. Their feeble attempts have only empowered the movement and damaged themselves so far. Unfortunately such a move would only push Donald to consolidate the bulk of reps and dems into another party, possibly sending it a bit left when everything is said and done. I mean having like Reagan Democrats joining your party is one thing, but the reach would be pretty far to ensure a 3-party crossfire win, even if alll the libertarians joined up. Even if you drop in a good portion of conservatives and constitutionalists.
I think this is a big reason the media has gone full retard over the issue and is trying to demonize Donald as best they can. They could very well lose viewership and ratings if the divisions ended leaving a broken 2-party system in the dust.
It's hard to project any outcomes from that, it's too much of a wild card, too much diversity. Not that they couldn't pull a win, but how stable that win remains after the fact would be a challenge to guess at. You can't just unite under an anti-establishment banner indefinitely, needs to have more purpose over time, more direction. But it would be a start, just as the Rep party was born out of an anti-slavery position and went on from there. I don't wish for the Rep party to be wiped out though, just go through a reformation as it really does need this.
