I've said it before I'll say it again. If Red had a healthy population I'd probly reroll there and play it full time. But imo it needs to have like 500-600 ppl at primetime and no less than like 250 on off-hours. Any less than that and it starts to feel ghost town-y as fuck to me.
I have also noticed that the login server population #s do not actually reflect the numbers in the game when I do a /who count all. It said earlier that 80 people were on the server but when I logged in 30 seconds later, the population was listed at under 60.

Why is it dead? The gear imbalance between newbs and long term players is so vast that it is pointless for most new players to engage in most pvp. The exp bonus is nice to level with but if something is not done to help new players get gear then levelling to 60 is basically just a great way to ensure your win loss ratio @ 1 win / 60 deaths. Thus the population will continue a long slide to oblivion.

The newbie guild Thunderdome is alright but frankly they do jack all to prevent gankers and flat out ignore numerous warning regarding spies in their guild. I have watched people complain about player X, Y and Z being spies for guilds that gank TD members and nothing gets done for quite some time.

This will only contribute to the steady server decline.

I'm guilty of plugging myself sometimes mostly cause I wanted to avoid a long CR run from some shitty fungi twink in CB/MM but it's definitely a bad mechanic for a PvP server to have.
In my opinion pvp servers should be wiped every 3 - 5 years to renew the server population. It is not just about a shitty fungi twink, its the shitty fungi twink who not only ganks a newb group but insists on driving them out of a zone by camping their corpses or the zone in entrance. I have watched this repeatedly and been told by my guild to "avoid" those zones. What a joke. No real help, just cow tailing to the twinks.

It really is the lamest form of PvP going when someone has that much gear and insists on pushing newbies off the server.
