All insurance should be state-owned enterprise. There is nothing to gain from competition in this industry. Once an actuary runs the numbers, BAM you know how much money you need to collect in order to provide a certain level of coverage. All insurance companies are doing when they compete with one another is giving the illusion of a better product by reducing rates while also offering inferior coverage in line with those rates, while still remaining profitable, or being superior marketers. All for-profit collective risk management is just skimming money off the top, producing nothing of value, and making nothing more efficient.
