No one really poopsocks anything at this point, even with 16 hour variance. There is a lot of bind sight tracking/FTE maging/general staring at the wall stupidity, though. Simultaneous repops are the obvious solution to Blue's raid woes and have been proposed for several years now. For whatever reason, the staff just doesn't want to implement them <shrug>
EQ PVP is horribly unbalanced and mostly involves people running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Also, zerg wins in EQ and that's just as true for PVP. You can't be in a small guild like The A-Team on a PVP server, because your 30 people will get flatted by 100 regardless of how skilled/geared they are. Enabling PVP on Blue would turn everything into a 200 v 200 desync war. Note that no one is arguing for Red because of the amazing mechanics of EQ PVP; they just want to play on a server that's less crowded and doesn't have variance.
Red is far more of a dumpster fire than blue because of the people that play there. It's probably only 25% complete tools rather than 10% like Blue, but somehow they form a critical mass that controls the culture.
