i put most my stats in dex for my ranger. dont think you need panic about 80 str.
However ranger is a class thats tuff to play as a nuub.....its a class that most folk play on p99 as a twink, because this class soaks up decent gear just to stay on par with other more potent classes. Rangers are very nostalgic, but they are poorly designed in classic eq and sub par from power pov. They can be fun and def up there for role playing.
