Sub 55, the biggest contribution a bard brings to most groups is hymn of restoration with lute, nivs melody of preservation with lute, mana pulse, and (depending on whether you're the only person who can haste or not) a choice of one of your melee songs or hastes. Keep mez, snare/slow, and other utility songs mem'd.
At 49 with a good lute you can twist high 30s to low 40s per tick hp regen (hymn + nivs) on top of covering basic haste and giving a nice pulse of mana for your casters. At 55 it gets nuts as the 55 cantana hp regen component is modified by strings, and still STACKS with nivs.
5% stackable haste is frankly a song not worth using. There are so many better things you could be doing with your time.
