If anything this is an advertisement for Empire life. High end uncontested raiding on a friendly schedule with PvP in your spare time wearing best in slot gear. That's the allure of red. Well "have fun" is the ethos of success on red, though if your fun is hampered by being pk'd the , yes "git guud" is the mantra. That doesn't differ markedly from Blue.
NToV/ST gear does have an impact on pvp, but it's not an I win button. Clickies in general have more impact.
