Pro tip : There are a lot of druid rings with vendors at them. Say someone gives you 300g as a tip - you can buy a couple 15p emeralds, which will come out of your gold, then sell the gems back to the vendor for platinum. That may seem like a massive inconvenience but it only takes about 20 seconds.
