I think we would go door to door snuffing and/or black bagging the trouble makers and the world would turn a blind eye to our crimes like every other time before. People like to think things are different during the days they live, but, they're not.

You're right to a degree. It would be almost impossible to find every "trouble maker" and even harder to scrub the story from all news outlets. it would get out somehow.
The lynch pin though is convincing enough people to take a stand in stead of purchasing bumper stickers that show their support. Rebellions aren't won by adhesive and catchy slogans.
