Learn to do things manually. May seem like a pain but it is ultimately going to give you a more fine tuned control over the situation, and it's more fun if you actually enjoy the class.

There is one hotkey that will be your best friend though. /rt. what this does is targets the last person that sent you a tell. It is a godsend for buffing.
