My dear Senior Rational Extremist, I believe you have overlooked a key detail in your research!!

Japan cartoons were censored for having content of a pedophilic nature, yes? Surely you, in all your wisdom, can understand this is quite a lot different than censorship of homosexual themes.
I submit to you the following notion - one of these things should be censored and the other should not.

This Is the fundamental problem with morality. It is subjective. Many people believe both are wrong. Many believe the former is fine and the latter is not. Others might believe the opposite. Reason tells us that neither practice is without consequence (perceived or real) just as any other practice that is or has been morally objectionable to persons throughout history.

Private parties should be free to reject or embrace ideas as they see fit and rally around them. The only issues that I take with censorship though are hipocrisy and government imposition on diverse societies.

If Cartoon Network UK does not wish to promote gay culture, that's their choice. You don't have to watch their programming. If they do want to promote it, that's their choice and opponents don't have to watch it. The same goes for any other content, provided it does not explicitly incite criminality.

Which Japanese cartoons are we discussing?
