However, PVP is the original intent of the server and so I expect it to happen and as such I endeavor to learn the means, methods and culture and have a good time about it!
There are far too many on the server who choose to identify as victims. Even many vocal "dedicated/retired" pvpers seem to share OP's sentiment.

Thank you perfectly spoken about PVP. It happens so just enjoy it and don't let it upset you. Truth of the matter is short of running back and getting your corpse with a little loss of coin there is no downside to pvp beyond issues with smaller guilds and trying to raid.(a PVE endeavor)
That said the trolls on the forums really worry about everyone else. The people playing they game should play for themselves and their friends. Do what you have fun doing whatever it may be. If you like PVE then raid and do encounters but don't get upset over PVP on Red. If you like PVP then PVP but don't get upset if someone else doesn't see it the same way as you. In the end we all play games like this for our own reasons and why change to fit someone else. It isn't like your married to your guildies. Enjoy the game the way you want to and have fun with your friends.
