I had a really eerie feeling about Rexx cashing out last year. I thought it was weird he wanted to completely liquidate everything.
I remember trying to talk Rexx into sticking around a little longer clear as day. This was while he was liquidating his account last year, you probably all saw the /auctions. I bought his last item and now possibly had the last game related exchange with him ever.
After a lot of reminiscing about the glory days and VZTZ golden days, a transparent attempt to get him to stop cashing out, I asked if he was sure he didn't want to make another run. I told him people will miss him. Rexx's final words were "Nah". And then "You guys won't miss me" really short, abrupt, final. I remember thinking it didn't sound like the old Rexx. Rexx would never say that in this context. And why the fuck is he cashing out now after being inactive for months and months.
He explained he was really enjoying life with his new woman and wanted to focus on life itself. He said there was so much more to life.
I sent him my last tell "We'll... maybe you are right, it is a new generation on this server, but I would miss you pal. Just know you got guys who still remember you here"
