I never realized this until r99, but guilds like Empire are why devs have been forced to shift away from open world content. Not only do they ruin content for their own members by trivializing it with over-participation, they ruin it for everyone else who would like to experience the content as it was intended.
Why do you think Rogean ridicules you guys? Instead of being able to enjoy 15 year old content for what it is, you just throw so many people at it that the whole event takes about as much concentration as watching TV. No wonder this server feels like it is full of the emotionally disabled, drug addicts, felons, unemployable, as this whole recruit literally anyone who can click the "accept" button only appeals to and rewards those players.
EQ should be like taking a roadtrip with friends, not packing 13 people into a '93 Sentra and blockading the parking lot of the Circle K til you have eaten them out of the $0.25 hot dog promo.

Your argument has been posted by dozens of people over time and it all boils down to "most other people aren't playing the game like I want them to". You make statements like:

EQ should be like taking a roadtrip with friends

That is opinion stated as fact. I don't want EQ to be like a roadtrip with friends, I came back to do the progression content (VP) I missed the first time around. I wasn't here to make friends or hang out and chat with people, I wanted the guild to do the content as efficiently as possible so I could see what it was like. I'm sorry that I (and many others, if not the majority of others) don't really care how you want us to play.

Do you really think the recent AoW server first was a huge zerg of nobody paying attention? The toughest mob in the game sets the baseline for what you need to bring to the table as a progression guild, not the mean or average difficulty of raids. So now you've built a 50+ man raid force that is needed to take out the toughest mob in the game, you're supposed to tell half of those same people not to bother showing up for a raid that takes 25? That's retarded.
The amount of sour grapes that gets posted on R99 forums about how other people play the game is really incredible.
