This server is so off the rails that the few people who aren't pixel sick, RnF gagged, been around forever, know every single neckbeard cult of personality on the server, and don't give one single solitary fuck about calling out the assholes that drove this server to the complete fucking catastrophe it is today are the ones that are full of shit.

You do realize that the people that are ~actually~ full of shit are the guild leaders who have created this absolute nonsense with this absurd metagame machine. They have shamelessly and unscrupulously cultivated armies of mindless nubs that can't play their way out of a 3 mob encounter just to gear their own alts and have driven so many actual EQ players away from the server. What we have now is bunch of nubs from WoW and Guild Wars 2 who can't even make it to level 60 without a powerlevel and have the absolute worst fucking attitude when it comes to actually playing classic EQ.

My play experience here has been profoundly affected by this behavior and you better fucking believe "I'm mad" as are many others. We've been banging this fucking drum for years only to have the circlejerk cabal make them jump through flaming hoops after they Chardok AoE to 60 just to facilitate their "style" of gameplay (camping armies of alts, poopsocking and batphoning) which has absolute nothing to do with "classic" EQ at all, whatsoever. Whenever a group of individuals speaks up, they unabashedly lie, censor, ostracize, and run the guild like a junta.

So who's full of shit again?
Some poopsocking was classic, the rest I agree with -- minus all the butthurt. It would be better if this server was not ran by all-day gamers that want to prove something by being number 1.

In a nutshell, guild rotation is the answer. 3-4 guilds rotate mobs. Why does someone who only plays a 1/4 your time getting the best drops in the game? Because your a fucking adult and you shouldn't be playing EQ that much! Even if you want to play games all day, there are other games and other things to do in this game besides raid prep.

Look it's very simple. Should we make the end game accessible to normal people? Or only people that will wake up every few hours of the night for days in order to clear NToV? Is requiring someone to sit and stair at a wall for hours upon hours every week a good thing?

It simply doesn't have to be this way. Top items in EQ were supposed to be hard to get and take time. But there was nothing inherently competitive intended about the game for blue servers. The devs just put too many bottlenecks in the game because MMOs were new and they didn't learn yet.

I'm sure we all agree that WoW was too easy and vapid compared to EQ. Things should be time consuming in MMOs and you should need other people to advance. But that doesn't mean we need to make it impossible for someone with a regular full time job to get to the end game. The only way I keep up is because I'm lucky enough to be able to work at home a few days a week.

What the staff hasn't learned that most MMORPGs have by now -- is these "top players" -- don't matter worth shit. They are a tiny minority that everyone else on the server would be happy to see leave. Somewhere between WoW's pandering to the lowest common denominator, and p99 insistence on only the most dedicated only having access to raid loot, there is a healthy medium where normal people can try hard and put in enough time to get the cool drops. It would be cool to actually crawl through ToV like classic once....rather than this bullshit.
