The reason they prescribe opiates s because they're addictive. That's why we invaded Afghanistan. After we took over, they started producing like 91% of the world's poppy.

There are other alternatives when it comes to pain management, and all of them are devoid of the risk of physical addiction. Why would they need a drug so strong for an injury anyway? Pain won't kill you unless you're already really fat and have a weak heart, which would be a side effect of yet another addiction: food.
