Terrorism is a small part, it's more about global politics including very pissed off and religious Arab countries, and an intolerant oppressive religion.

Also, Trump was kinda being politically correct, he knows exactly why they hate us and so does everyone else =) I mean Iran openly says they will obliterate Israel and the US.
