Quoted for truth. That Sam guy still posts everyday in forums for a game he discourages people from playing. Not to be trusted for reliable advise.
Red99 is healthier than it's ever been since I started playing about a year ago. The population is at an average peak of 280+. A single guild does top-end Velious uncontested, but as a new player to the server this matters very little.
A large leveling guild called Thunderdome helps lowbies get on their feet and learn the playing field (
shameless plug) and once you're self sufficient several small guilds are competing over Classic/Kunark raid targets.
