I know a lot of folks are taking this as a chance to poke fun at you, but they are correct in that it is not classic.
Part of what killed EQ for me was how the game made people less and less dependent on one another. I had to put trust in people to do the right thing. People had a chance to exhibit integrity and you could discern who were good or bad folks.
Having to work together is a very important part of the game. I'm sorry this happened to you.
