If you want to explore how 'normal, moderate Muslims' feel about these kinds of issues, you should consult the statistics I posted.
The fundamental issue here is whether you believe in cultural relativism or not. Does every set of behaviors and beliefs have just as much merit as any other? Are they all equally competent at running a stable state? Can radically different cultures coexist peacefully in a single state?
I think the answers to these questions are fairly clear. However, educating anything other than the cultural relativist dogma, even at the post-secondary level, is somehow thoughtcrime. It's ridiculous.
