This. The Thrawn trilogy deserved the film treatment, or at least borrow elements from it.
This film is more Disney mass marketing junk than Star Wars in that regard, but I digress I still will watch the fuck out of it.
ex. mass marketing: black storm trooper main character, adam driver is a very young main character. Han Solo was young but also mature, same for Leia. Daisey Ridley and Driver just scream millennial hipster to me, and it detracts from the Star Wars feel but Disney needs their monies worth from everyone, not just the "fans".
At least the black dude doesn't have that young milennial/hipster look to him. Even luke in Episode 4 looked a tad more mature in a "I'm very young, but you can also tell I'm destined for greater purpose" type of look. Ridley can pass for underage and looks like she just got her learners permit, maybe this is intentional but far cry from very young but mature Leia. Driver looks like he just turned legal drinking age, hoping it works but not the best casting for a young sith.
Oscar Isaac is the only main character casting that is dead-on classic Star Wars to me. They nailed this role big time. Looking forward to seeing what he can do with the role. Even very excited you might say.
Bringing up the Thrawn Trilogy being passed over is going to rustle some jimmies and create bad feels. Why u do this lol.
