The other style of wars the US so often finds itself in are nothing new. During the first decades of the twentieth century there was something of a running joke in the press that the U.S. Army was little more than the militarized arm of the United Fruit Company. Fact is the U.S. has been in a state of almost constant conflict since the Spanish-American war, at least. Instead of blaming Bush, blame McKinley.

ya, if you look at the USMC service history there's a ton of expeditions and stuff where they kill a bunch of locals. it's pretty rad. such as when we conquered hawaii
