Most of the people who want you to "try red" never tried red themselves. They traded a bunch of wealth on blue to get red plat or items, and had social capital to find groups of people they already knew from blue. If you're a new player to p99 and you elect to go red have fun getting steamrolled.

nah i started on red without anything, not even spell plat. rolled a druid to 54 and became officer and then GM of a leveling guild, self farmed all my gear. met a lot of cool pals on red & rerolled a rogue main in banded armor, couple months later I'm one of the best geared rogues on the server while playing in underdog guilds. i've never done a blue->red xfer, actually haven't logged on blue once since i rolled red.
