I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying that it would most likely be a better use of your time in terms of efficiency to just level a bit. The game is much more fun once you can actually do Shaman things and go cool places. Better to farm things at 34 with dogdog than to camp Sisters in Lfay at lvl 14 for a 1 plat sword.

The game is supposed to be about fun. THat's what you argued for, right? The journey and not the end result?
Just grinding levels until I can buy everything is not fun. Getting a new piece of equipment appropriate to my level definitely is. That's where I think our disconnect is.
I couldn't give a damn about efficiency as long as I'm having a good time, which should be the point. I can totally understand the argument for efficiency as an established player. You've seen and done it all and it would be a waste of your time to grab some equipment that you'll level out of quickly, especially since you['ll be able to buy/obtain far more effective gear down the road.
But I really can't think of a way of burning out more than just grinding levels without being able to go find a new piece of equipment every few levels and be like "Haha look at this sweet helmet!"
Like, even if it's buying the gear. In Flatt's (Reptox is his character name) video series Classic Adventures he bought a chest piece someone had sold to a vendor for 17 plat, all the money he had. THen ran from Cabalis all the way across the world to Eastern Commonlands Tunnel to sell it and resold it for 50 plat and did some other trading. He bought some Mater Wu's Trance Stick's for himself and even got someone to turn his spider silk into armor, and sold the rest. That is totally cool! A cross world adventure with rewards at the end? Awesome.
