Uh, yes it is. Do you not realize that a network admin can still see abnormal network traffic even if it's encrypted? If you're on an SSH tunnel for multiple hours a day, it's not like your network traffic is invisible. If using remote access for multiple hours a day isn't a part of your job, then this will seem odd if it's caught. Like someone else mentioned, all a network admin has to do at that point is remote access onto your computer and see what you're doing.

I guess I should have been more clear, of course the traffic is able to be detected, all traffic is, but the specifics of what kind of data is being sent it not detectable. They have absolutely no way of knowing through an SSH tunnel if you're surfing the web, downloading or uploading files, remote desktop, gaming, etc.
