Regardless of any redeeming qualities smite may have as a game, I'd encourage people not to play it simply because Hi-Rez (the company who made it) has a history of making promises to their player base that they have no intention of keeping and abandoning games. They did it with global agenda, and more recently with Tribes:Ascend. They took one of the greatest FPS franchises ever, released a half-finished product, promised more updates and content, and then moved every developer to smite without fixing bugs from day 1 of release. Even worse, theyre now talking about global agenda 2 and a sequel to tribes:ascend, as if anyone from either of those communities is going to support their bullshit pump and dump development strategy.
They also threatened members of the tribes community who started trying to make custom content with legal action after they announced they would no longer be supporting the game. Then tried to appease the community by releasing screen shots of unreleased maps stating they would be released, but two years later and still no new maps, even though they are supposedly complete. So they have content, wont release it, and wont let the community make their own content, even though theyve declared the game dead.
Theyre basically the type of company that would have cease and desisted Project 1999 on day 1 so they could sit on the games IP rights and do absolutely nothing with them, just like theyre currently doing with Tribes.

The game does feel dishonest haha, like half the time im like, /say RU GUYS REAL? IS THIS REAL OR RU AI PRETENDING TO BE REAL?!
Its crappy but the ganera has no other like it so far! a more up close and single character oriented fantasy pvp game
