my kid is 6 and can beat most of the bosses in dark souls. pretty sure this game would be cake for him to play. the biggest challenge would be to keep him interested rather than bored.

THAT is impressive if your kid didn't look up how to beat the bosses. You should have him not do any research and play Demon's Souls and DS2 to see how long it takes him to adapted.
