Once the quests in Darkshore start turning orange/red I'd highly recommend taking the boat to wetlands and running to Ironforge, then either start the quests in Loch Modan or take the tram to Stormwind and hit up Westfall. Or do both, I've been doing all 3 on my toons and it's good starting coin and experience.

I'm a gnat's breath away from 16th, and things will start slowing down as I will be shortly returning to work. My fiancée has been remarkably understanding, although I suspect this will change, thus I shall be playing much more casually i.e. 6 hours per week (if that).
Settled down in Darkshore, and have been exploring, performing quests, upgrading armour sets (vendor bought - supplemented by quests), and drowning. I didn't realise at first that one needed to hit 'jump' as one emerged from the depths to re-gain one's breath. Making swimming meaningful by discovering ship wrecks, and completing quests was novel.
Once I hit 16th, I'll head back to Darnassus to start working on Herbalism and Cooking. First Aid is coming on quite nicely, and is extremely useful as a Warrior, as I have zero utility - which makes catching Rabies particularly annoying.
Thanks for the levelling advice, Priceline. I'll keep the advice in mind as I level. It's easy to get stuck on the levelling hamster wheel, and forget that you can jump to other areas to pick-up quests, and jump back.
Looking forward to contested areas [Ashenvale] and 5 Player Dungeon instances at 20th.
Another aspect that I really enjoy is the lore. It definitely helps with immersion levels, and should provide a different playing experience for an alt (not until I hit 60th and have completed a lot of content - so a long, long way off) levelling as different class / race in a completely different area, with racial quests and lore.
