Poor guy is fully convinced nihilum wasn't going to gear him. It all happened at 50 dkp. Membership was capped at optimal levels. Apps were turned down to allow a #2 or #3 guild which weren't grieved out of planar raids. Azrael had no interest in planar raids and wanted to snipe the top tier mobs if anyone remembered correctly.
Empire is just about recruiting the whole server until you cannot farm a zone without an <empire> kill crew ganking you for lols.

I agree except with the part where you said stuff.
Membership was never capped. In a year I never saw a single recruit turned down because "we were full". In fact Nizzar stated on multiple occasions he thought people he turned down would just quit and hurt the server pop so he wouldn't - something which I mostly agree with tbh. We even had sub level 50 recruits if they could contribute (like clerics). At no point ever did we not have enough people to clear a raid mob on a scheduled raid, and often times raided with 3-4x the required players.
We also actively recruited high level/competent players from the lesser guilds, batphoned PVP to wipe their raids, did things like corpse camp RD after a PVE Gore wipe, etc. Niz wanted total dominance and would do anything to keep the pixel flow going, and didn't give a flying fuck about what any other guilds wanted.
Trying to revise history to paint Nihilum as some guild of saints trying to foster competition that was disbanded by a corrupt GM for no reason is just fucking dumb dude. Everyone knows, including sane ex members like myself, that Nihilum crushed competition when it popped up with the full force of 50+ VP keyed neckbeards. It's one of the things I loved about the guild.
