anyway, free tip; there is plenty of noob gear around on r99, its just that the people that tend to have it are pretty rich, and aren't going to bother to find a teleport or do a 20 minute run to a bank so they can sell an item for 100pp.
sit at the NFP bank, look for strong chars, and ask them if they have stuff
you'll usually get shit free or cheap, its a convenience thing
