Just a little. I found my old account luckily, but came back 3 months ago and rerolled. Got a char up to lvl 20, the first week, was on a weekend, lvl 1 to 5 is a grind, can take up to maybe 5 hours or more on your own. So by your self it's tough.
I lvld out 1 to 3 myself, did'nt take long. Then ran to orc hill and lvld 3 to 6 quick, I just stuck to groups. 2nd night, I found group after group, and got to 11 quick, although I was playing 5 to 8 hour playing shifts. In the two days. By day 3 played a little and got to 11 and then ran to kurns. I was given a few peices of gear, I saw high lvl peeps killing guards, so I looted fine steel, so plat for spells came by easy. Kurns helped me lvl to 18 quick, also my char is a cleric.
Make a char that appeals to you, log on, and play. First 10 lvls, just play, find groups, find the good people to group with. Some may give gear, some may not. But after the first 10 lvls you should know the class, and look up on p99 wiki where to go, or ask on here. There is plenty to do to lvl and gear up. it takes you, have fun and adventure along the way.
