You can patch in sitting wolf models right now if you want. It'll take a little search-fu but there's a thread about it somewhere.
Edit: You should really use form of the howler once you're of-level, it adds +2 mana regen!

I tried looking around, and I couldn't find anything on the sitting problem. I did see something about texture with luclin models but i do not use them!
