Dagger of marnek was probably one of the first things I camped on my necro when I first made him; it's a nice little range slot item. In general, you will want to value HP as much as you do Mana; this wiki page:

Remember that raw mana and hp items are going to benefit you more at a lower level than will int and stam. Shadowbound gloves and boots are great for a young necro.
