I've played league of legends on and off for a few years now. Just wanted to say that you can buy things, but they won't make you win... So, not pay to win. Definitely one of the most balanced games I've played. For instance, if a champion is changed and it's it's found that they are overpowered, you can still ban that champ from the game. Each team gets 3 bans. But, they'll only stay overpowered for a brief time because LoL patches nearly every week. Never have I played a game that was so responsive to their player base. I played WoW PvP for years. A class will go months or an xpac being overpowered or underpowered. Your class sucks? Took you weeks to get it leveled and geared for raiding and PvP? Oh well! Good luck leveling/gearing a class that is not underpowered while everyone is clearing your raids or getting high up in PvP rankings with a nice gear lead on you.
Aside from their response time in OP situations, LoL has also made their competitive professional scene amazing with their Riot Games twitch.tv streams. I love their productions. They really have engaged their community. This is why they have been so successful imo.
How is LoL similar to HOTS? Different?
