the actual numbers are server side. There is no way for people to know the p99 server code or the live server code without it being divulged to the public. With that being said there is no way to prove that skill gains are era accurate or live accurate. Unless that information was divulged.
The rule of thumb on this is to just get the highest primary stat for your class. whether it be Int or Wis. If wis or int is not your class's primary stat focus, Most go with Int.
Higher-est int or wis = better gains somehow.
I recorded all my gains and attempts with a couple trade skills. I'll go through and see if and when I had higher Int how it effected gains. The problem is that as the tradeskill goes up it it becomes harder to attain gains. So that automatically skews data, Unless you do one character with a set amount of Int or Wis and another with lets say 255 then compare, over and over until you boil down a theory on the particular numbers.

Agreed that it's ridiculous to think... but was just thinking with 5 years it's possible someone did exactly that and crunched the numbers. I.e. picked a cheap tradeskill to level 0-255 with 60 in a stat and 200 in a stat multiple times and saved the data. It wouldn't be perfect but it would be pretty indicative.
