See, that's exactly why the Fallout games were so amazing: everything in that graphic is true, and yet despite all those flaws the game was still awesome.
Personally I'll never forget the moment in Fallout 3 when I was just randomly wandering the wastes and got approached by some kid from ant-town asking for help finding his parents. I hadn't hailed any quest NPC, or even gone within fifty feet of one; instead I had just been completely absorbed in exploring the post-apocalyptic world, and (it felt like) that world had come to interact with me.
Now in retrospect I understand that the game wasn't really that smart: the kid was just triggered by my proximity to ant-town. But still, when it first happened I felt like I really had become Mad Max, and that feeling was straight magical.
I can't wait for #4 (well, really #5, counting New Vegas).
