I don't own an AoN: and probably never will, but the point of having one is to add a whole new level of potential capacity to one's PvP game, and is a reward generally to those that participate in PvP vrs those that just show up for raid loot.

Why would a server want to take away one of the most sort-after and prestigious PvP items in the game and make it a watered down version (I.e name plates).

This isn't Wow and everyone deserves the same footing.
