In their defense, my understanding is that the problems at launch stemmed from adding instancing for newbie zones that they couldn't really test in beta because they didn't have the loads for them. Pops on these servers always fall off fast when the nostalgia wears off so they didn't want to launch more than one server like they have in the past because that brings future headaches for them and the players. Now the only problem is the server is at full capacity of 4000 or 5000 players and people are getting pissed. I don't really see that as too much of a problem because most of these people won't last a few weeks anyway. And a lot of them are, apparently, headed this way.
That said, the real fun is to come. They've taken KSing out of the rules of conduct and have even been quoted saying that this is a "DPS War" server or something like that. Training isn't in there either, but they conspicuously haven't commented on that. Besides being into a fresh start after being away for so long I just have to see this play out. The way these people whine and rant on the boards about the silliest shit from not getting their favorite name to the mere existence of boxers (on freaking eq live), just wait till the KSing kicks in in earnest. With 6 months of classic. Remember p99 in classic with, what, 500 players average peak? It's worth the sub fee just to get to watch.
