If staff is not available during situations like this, document it the best you can with fraps or screenshots. Upload to either Imgur.com or Youtube and link in a petition on the petition forum.
If you are able to tell the story with your documentation, action will be taken.
It is unfortunate someone was able to run wild for 8 hours. As a player, I would have moved. I realize that is letting the other guy "win", but I don't think you won by letting him ruin your day.
