You, And I mean You as the OP have to decide that you are going to want to level, or spend tons of time making armor, doing quests, etc. etc.
You really can't do both. And both ways are a fun experience. But with a racial penalty, which you will have, even when Velious comes out, forever, it is one HELL of a Hard road to level 60.

But I have said a ton of times, this game is Suppose to be fun, not a race to the top. But contradicting myself racing to the top can be damn rewarding also.

This game is based around what YOU want to do not what Bob, Jerry, Mary, me does. It is your toon, not mine.
I have tried over the past 16 years, I have played EQ, to do what you are saying probably 30 times or more I am sure. In the long run I have gave it up every time.
