Sikorsky I do strongly agree with you that we needed to get away from the porn/hate speech/racial slur stuff, but please don't take on the torch of we do this as volunteers, we're tired of whining attitude please dude.
We've been extremely unfortunate historically with way too much of a putting themselves on pedestal attitude once in power in the past by so many people. We need a genuine attitude toward excellent service, and respect for playerbase. I know you have the capability to be one of those guy so I just urge you please don't degrate the community publicly, and especially in private. People in CSR need to have a complete and genuine urge to want to help and serve others or it just screws everything up in colossal ways.

I can promise you, I'm not here for some self-fulfilment-power-trip. I'm waaaaay past that kind of crap at this point of my life. I'm just an older dude, married, kids, mortgage, career (though..... I'm no young doctor), etc etc etc etc that just enjoys EQ. I have nothing to prove here, especially on the forum.
I truly do believe P99 is *the* best EQ server out there at the moment. I want to help it, and its community grow, and I believe in the vision Rogean / Nilbog have for the box, else I wouldn't be here.
I've played here for the last few years, and have wanted to give back (if I could program I would help there but I can't - so here I am
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.], I guess just the dude vacuuming the carpets at night).
With that said, I do hope the people here appreciate the many volunteers past, present, and future that do dedicate their time to this project though. I know do. Without them, none of this is possible and P99 would cease to exist.
Do I think the community owes us something for it? I know I certainly don't feel owed / entitled to anything from the community, but of course I hope the community appreciates what we are doing. /shrug

I agree, excellent service/respect is necessary for this server to thrive, but I will add that just like in real life, if the customer comes in all bent out of shape, the staff (especially if they are volunteers) are going to be less likely to want to help them. In my RL interactions when I've had a problem with some product or service, I've had much better results with employees when I, the customer, approach them respectfully instead of immediately flying off the handle at them. Almost always they are willing to bend over backward and help me out. It's just a fact of life. So it goes both ways, in my opinion.
