Like you said, its just beta. The speed at which they slammed the server out there leaves me with no surprises its full of stuff that it shouldn't. However, most will likely be cleaned up and remedied prior to launch in June.
DBG use players more than ever to test and help develop their games. Just like at EQN and H1Z1. This is no different with the beta server.
