In the court of public opinion, this report, on the surface, looks to be very damning indeed. Until you start peeling back the layers and the entire thing falls apart. We live in America, where you are innocent until proven guilty. However, this inalienable right doesn’t seem to be afforded to the Patriots, as most of the ‘evidence’ provided is circumstantial and would never hold up in a real court.

This isn't a criminal case. Presumption of innocence is irrelevant. But we do have some pretty damning evidence. McNally stole the game balls from the officials locker room and was filmed taking them into a bathroom. Less than an hour later, the balls were measured again, and they had been significantly deflated. Following the chain of possession, that time in the bathroom was the most opportune moment. Then you have the text messages where McNally implicates himself as the
deflator. And he's clearly receiving his directives from Jatremski. It's only implied that they come from Brady, and that's hearsay, but if it can be proven that Brady provided McNally with benefits and favors, then that might be enough for NFL sanctions for Brady. McNally is out for life. Jatremski maybe, too. Will have to differ to Goodell on Brady's punishment, but
he could be out of the hall.
