Nearly 13 years after I last /camped for the final time, I find myself fanning the flames for a light that has never gone out. Of all the MMOs I played in the intervening years, none matched what I experienced during my EverQuest years.
After another project failed to materialise, I stumbled upon Project 1999 from a chance YouTube video - a clarion call of nostalgia, and the need for a new laptop after my MacBook died. New Windows laptop duly ordered (last in stock), I have the opportunity to achieve what I failed to achieve when I originally played all those many years ago.
I only achieved 24th level on my Chanter because an alt Druid, then an alt Warrior interfered with my playing time; as well as spending an inordinate amount of time on the server board.
This time round I can be more achievement orientated, whilst still pausing to take in the beauty of the Karanas during the rain, and play on a somewhat casual basis over a long period of time. This time round, I'll roll a DE Chanter (as opposed to HE Chanter - whoop big difference

Hopefully see you all in-game from Friday (pending laptop delivery, config, and a Titanium config), Neriak Commons log, or EC Tunnel. Seriously, my heart did a flip when I read that there were nearly 200 players in EC Tunnel.
Play-time will be weekend mornings, and maybe Sat evenings (BST) if nothing else planned. All-nighters reserved for special occasions well in advance - to pacify my fiancée. The trials and tribulations of EQ in one's early 40s.
Cheers!
