It's (obv) a client issue. I don't recall it being as bad back in the day, but i've never been completely free of it. Seems to be most common in zone canyons/tunnels, esp right after you enter certain zones (WFP from EFP, NFP from WFP, Kithicor from WC, RV from MT, & etc.) It's annoying as hell if you aren't paying enough attention to realize you've been turned around or if it's a place like RV from MT where it's not at all obvious which way you're headed from what you can see alone.
